We never thought we would be SO overjoyed to see a weather forecast that included more sunshine than rain clouds. This spring has been a wet one to say the least, so having a warm, sunny Memorial Day Weekend in our future is fantastic news to local and visitors to Ocean City. While we are excited to finally hit the pool, the beaches, and to simply see continuous sunshine, we are also thrilled to be able to finally take advantage of our rooftop Tiki Bar! Downtown Berlin is the place to be this Friday, May 13, as the team from Ocean 98 takes over Main Street for the 6th annual May Day Play Day! Each May, the local radio station fills the streets of Berlin with live music, games, and activities for the entire family. The all ages event is from 5pm until 9pm, with free admission. Our friends from Burley Oak will also be on the scene with their Beer Garden, so be sure to bring some cash to enjoy a few local brews! Live music will be provided by Blind Wind, The Messengers, Eastern Electric, and Stone Senate. It’s the perfect Friday outing for family and friends. Another fun-filled weekend awaits us in Ocean City, Maryland, as we continue to enjoy all that the spring season has to offer at the beach. The spring weather may be unpredictable here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but what we can count on are plenty of family-friendly events to enjoy every weekend. This weekend, we have our sights set on the 22nd Annual Maryland International Kite Exposition. The Town of Ocean City and The Kite Loft welcome you to join them on the beach and Boardwalk at 4th Street for three fun-filled days of kite flying. The festival showcases some of the best kite flyers from around the world, along with kites of all shapes and sizes on display. The Ocean City Boardwalk is host to so many terrific events throughout the year, not to mention the countless hours of entertainment that locals and visitors enjoy there year after year. One of our favorite events is scheduled for this weekend – the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! Not only is it a great chance to get outdoors and enjoy a walk or run along the Boardwalk on a warm spring day, but it’s also a fundraiser for an incredible cause, breast cancer research and awareness. The 5th Annual Race for the Cure in Ocean City, MD will be held on Saturday, April 16. Participants and spectators will gather at the Ocean City Inlet Parking Lot at the Registration Tent at 7:30am, with the race starting at 9am.
