Race for the Cure Returns to OCMD this Weekend!
Spring has officially sprung here in OCMD, which means some of our favorite springtime events are on the horizon, including several fantastic philanthropic events held on the Ocean City Boardwalk. First up in our local events calendar is the 4th Annual Race for the Cure, scheduled for this Sunday, April 25.
Each year, Komen Maryland holds several fundraising events, including the Race for the Cure in Ocean City. The funds raised go towards breast cancer programs, including educational conferences, resource guides for newly diagnosed women, survivor support and education, and Breast Health Outreach in the community. The annual Race for the Cure is a major fundraiser for Komen MD, as hundreds of men and women turn out to show their support on race day. The race starts at 9am on Sunday at the southern end of the Boardwalk. After a morning of racing for a good cause, why not head into Tugos to refuel on pizza and a few craft beers! Carb overload after your run or cool off with one of beers on tap. Flying Dog, Union, Heavy Seas, Evo, Fin City, Lagunitas…the list of craft brews goes on and on.
If you can’t show your support at the race, there are also two family-friendly events happening on Saturday in Ocean City. From 1-3pm, take the kids to Planet Maze for two-hours of unlimited play for $15. Or enjoy Skate for a Cure at The Carousal Hotel from 3-5pm for $10. Funds from both events will go towards Komen MD.
It truly is a terrific cause so show some support with a little fun for the whole family and treat yourself with a family lunch or dinner with us afterwards!
